TRINIDAD and Tobago receives a gift of Pfizer vaccines from the United States.
The Ministry of National Security stated in a release on Sunday that it received the gift on Saturday. It did not state the quantity.
The ministry stated, “The Government of T&T wishes to advise that yesterday, Saturday June 12, 2021, it received a gift of Pfizer vaccines from the Government and people of the United States of America.
“We have been very fortunate to have received gifts of vaccines from different countries such as St Vincent and the Grenadines, Grenada, Barbados, Bermuda, the Republic of India, the People’s Republic of China and now the United States The Government of T&T is thankful and remains most appreciative for these gifts at this particular time and it looks forward to the continued good relations with our regional and international partners.”
The release comes in the wake of a document circulating on social media that purports to be a letter from the US State Department giving permission to a travelling officer to bring in 80 vials of the Pfizer vaccine in the country.
