PERSONS  who contracted the Covid-19 virus can now get vaccinated three months after contraction whether they had one dose of the vaccine or not.

The government had shortened the timeframe from an initial six-month period to three months instead, Chief Medical Officer Dr Roshan Parasram announced on Wednesday at the Ministry of Health’s virtual media conference.

Dr Parasram said, “We were looking towards a policy shift with regards  to those who had Covid and had to receive vaccinations.”

He said on Tuesday, there was confirmation of the change.

“Those who have been infected with Covid need to have vaccines and now our national policy is to have a three months after infection and not the six months as it was before. If you had your first dose, you get infected, there is a three months post infection. If you have no doses, you get infected, you wait three months post infection as well,” Dr Parasram said.
