CHAGUANAS Mayor Faaiq Mohammed who was in Covid-19 isolation has returned to duty.
Mohammed on Tuesday said however, not all council members were in quarantine as previously reported.
He said, “Only myself and a few other members of the council who had possible exposure to a Covid positive person were isolated. That period of isolation ended yesterday (Monday) for us all. We were all tested on April 26 and I am pleased to announce that my results came back negative.”
The mayor also said the Chaguanas Borough Corporation administrative building was then closed at 1pm on April 27 for sanitisation and precautionary measures were followed upon hearing news of possible exposure to prevent the spread of the virus in the Corporation.
Mohammed said, “ I resumed work today as there are a lot people suffering based on loss of jobs due to these new Covid-19 regulations and there is much to be done as it relates to delivering humanitarian aid.
