WITH the number of Covid-19 cases rising, the Government has once again put in place partial lockdown measures including the closure of all beaches.
This was announced by Minister of Health Terrence Deyalsingh at the virtual medial conference on Wednesday.
He said in-house dining in restaurants, bars, cinemas and casinos will also be disallowed and public gatherings will now be limited to five people down from ten.
Deyalsingh said while no party boats have been allowed, tour boats will be permitted but with no music, and must adhere to social distancing and masking.
The minister said patrols by conservationists for protection of the leatherback turtles will be allowed.
He stressed that all beaches will closed including down the islands off Chaguaramas.
Places of worship will continue at 50% capacity but must adhere to social distancing practices and mask wearing.
Deyalsingh said the measures will take effect from midnight on Wednesday and be in place for three weeks in the first instance.
