IN order to properly provide electronic devices to pupils most in need, the Ministry of Education has devised a means test to determine pupils’ eligibility.

The ministry in a press release on Monday stated that the launch of the testing signalled the start of the distribution for devices procured by the Government for schoolchildren whose parents have difficulty due to their socio-economic circumstances in providing the necessary devices for them.

The ministry stated that parents of pupils who have not yet received a device through the Adopt-A-School programme or via any other private donation can complete a means test form.

“Priority will be given to students previously identified as not having devices by schools, and those who demonstrate financial difficulty on the basis of the information submitted on the Device Provision Form.”

The arrival of the devices should take place within the next few weeks and from April 12 to April 30. Parents and guardians are invited to complete the forms which are available for download from the ministry’s website or can be accessed at any government assisted primary or secondary school.
