THE Ministry of Health releases the names of 46 businesses and non-governmental organisations it says have provided voluntary support in the Covid-19 response last year.
It stated, “In acknowledgement of their contributions during that time, letters of appreciation were sent to these organisations.
“The Ministry of Health publicly thanks these organisations for their generous contributions to the people of Trinidad and Tobago.”

The release on Wednesday morning, comes in the wake of a contention by Group Chief Executive Officer of ANSA McAL Anthony Sabga III that the Government has asked for help in the purchase of 351,000 Pfizer vaccines at a cost of US$8.4 million.
Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley and Health Minister Terrence Deyalsingh have both denied that the Government has asked businesses for such assistance.
In a release to staff on Monday, Sabga revealed that ANSA also secured one million vaccines and wanted Government’s assistance to help bring it. He said an initial amount of 100,000 would been bought and ANSA would donate 50,000 to the Government.
He also revealed a letter of appreciation sent by the ministry.
The head of the Supermarket Association of Trinidad and Tobago Rajiv Diptee had also requested permission on behalf of his organisation to bring in vaccines.
There has been no permission granted so far for private businesses to bring in vaccines.
But Deyalsingh has said that the Government will now engage the private sector in the search to get vaccines outside of the COVAX facility.
