FOR allegedly having sex with an 11-year-old girl, a 39-year-old man from Tobago was denied bail when he appeared before the court on Wednesday.
Police reported that the accused from Signal Hill appeared virtually before Magistrate Joanne Connor at the Scarborough Magistrates’ Court charged with two counts of sexual penetration.
He was arrested after the victim, reported that during the period January, 2020, and April 2020, the accused had sexual intercourse with her. She also reported that sometime between February 29 2020 and April 1, 2020, the accused gave her alcohol.
WPC Clarke, of the Tobago Division Child Protection Unit (CPU) led investigations which resulted in his arrest. He is expected to reappear at the Scarborough Magistrates’ Court on April 6.
Investigations were supervised by acting Supt Claire Guy- Alleyne, acting Asp Roberts and Sgt Miller of the Child Protection Unit.
