IRAN – IRANIAN women who send images of themselves without their hijabs on could face up ten years in prison.
This after an anti-headscarf campaign titled White Wednesday by Masih Alinejad encourages women to post online photos of themselves without headscarfs, the Mailoline is reporting.
This a way of showing opposition for wearing the compulsory hijab.
Head of the Tehran Revolutionary Court, Mousa Ghazanfarabadi was quoted in Iran’s Fars news agency as saying, “those who film themselves or others while removing the hijab and send photos to this woman … will be sentenced to between one and 10 years in prison.”
