A body in an advanced stage of decomposition was discovered floating in the waters off Carenage on Friday.
Police reported that around 3 pm, PC Caines and PC Clarke were on mobile patrol in the Carenage district when they responded to a wireless transmission from Command Centre of an unidentified decomposed nude male body floating at Capital Signal, in the vicinity of Lanse Mitan.
The Coast Guard was contacted and Petty Officer Allum and Able Body Seaman Delmontes responded and lifted the body out of the water onto land.
DMO Dr Nwafor visited the scene and pronounced the man dead.
The body was taken to the Dennie’s Funeral Home by officers of the Carenage Police Station.
Visiting the scene was Insp Mohammed, Sgt Titte, Cpl Bentick, Cpl King and party and homicide officers led by Insp Simon.
