AN earthquake with a magnitude of 5.5 was felt in Trinidad and Tobago at 8.57 pm on Friday.
The earthquake was in Port-of-Spain, Arima and San Fernando.
The University of West Indies (UWI) Seismic Research Centre reported that its latitude was 10.81N, longitude -62.07W and there was a depth of 10km.
The event has not yet been reviewed by an analyst and is a preliminary result.
Shortly after it occurred, social media was flooded with reports from persons who experienced the earthquake.
