EIGHT people including an 11-year-old boy have been injured in a shoot-out.
The shooting occurred around 10.15 pm on Monday at 9th Street, Sixth Avenue, Malick.
Reports are that a group of persons were liming in the outside of the home of Danielle Walks Thompson when a Hyundai Elantra registration PCU 7970 pulled up and two men exited armed with firearms.
They started shooting at the crowd. One member of the crowd started shooting back at the men. The assailants then escaped in the vehicle.
Police have identified the seven who were taken for medical attention as Jordan Ferguson, Derrel Murrien, Terry, “Papa”, Mark, Junior and Tyler McIntosh, 11. One badly injured person who was rushed to the hospital is yet to be identified.
Visiting the scene were Asp Pariman, Insp Harrypersad, Cpl Lavia. First responders included, PC Duncan Hume, PC Pierre , PC Oliver and Pc Stater.
North Eastern Division Operation Command Center is in the process of tracking the vehicle via CCTV cameras and the crime scene is yet to be processed by CSI.
