THE Covid-19 Pfizer vaccine will once again be available to the public on Saturday announced Health Minister Terrence Deyalsingh.
Speaking at the Ministry of Health’s virtual media conference on Wednesday, Deyalsingh said the Government was expecting the additional vaccines to arrive on Thursday.
He said, “We expect the 75,000 doses tomorrow all things being equal. Once those vaccines come in tomorrow, we restart the Pfizer programme on Saturday. Anyone who wants to get first shot, second shot or boosted with Pfizer, you can do so on Saturday hopefully, once the vaccines come in tomorrow.”
The arrival of the 75,000 Pfizer doses would be the third tranche of vaccines received as a donation from the US government.
Deyalsingh said 38 Pfizer vaccines were given out during the ministry’s school vaccination programme which would resume on Monday.
The previous stock of Pfizer vaccines was pulled from all vaccination sites on Monday as it expired. Some 260,000 doses were to be destroyed via incineration Deyalsingh had said.
