SEVEN thousand new 20lb Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) cylinders will become available to the population during the first week in August.
On Tuesday in a press release by the Trinidad & Tobago National Petroleum Marketing Company Limited (NP), NP stated that the shipment was delayed due to the Covid-19 pandemic and were therefore unavailable to first time stove owners and those wanting to purchase additional cylinders.
NP stated that the transport vessel was already at the port and awaiting customs clearance.
NP stated, “NP wishes to assure the public that the delay in receiving these new cylinders has in no way affected the supply of LPG cylinders to the larger market, as full LPG cylinders continue to be widely available for purchase across the service station network, through the LPG distributors and at NP’s regular distribution points.”
The company stated that the 7,000 cylinders will complement the more than one million already in circulation and that NP remained committed to meeting the fuel distribution needs of the country in a timely manner.
