SEVEN Venezuelans who attempted to escape from police were arrested in Moruga on Wednesday night.
Police reported on Thursday that during curfew hours, officers attached to the Southern Division Task Force (SDTF) were conducting an exercise when they observed a blue Serena motor vehicle along the Moruga Main Road.
The vehicle was subsequently intercepted and several persons exited and began running in several directions.
Police immediately gave chase and arrested seven Spanish speaking nationals who are believed to have entered the country illegally.
They have been sent for medical assessment and will be handed over to the Immigration Division for further processing.
