6 Held for Drunk Driving

SIX people were arrested during an early morning DUI enforcement exercise.

The joint operation was conducted between 2 am and 6 am on January 1st, 2025, by the Highway Patrol Task Force and Road Support Unit/STEP and BPU Shift C along the Churchill-Roosevelt Highway.

During the exercise, 46 persons were tested, six of whom were found to have a breath alcohol level exceeding the prescribed limit of 35 micrograms (mcg) per 100 millilitres of breath.
The individuals arrested include:
A 21-year-old from Unqurie Road, Freeport, who registered 83 mcg;
A 31-year-old from Guaico Trace, Sangre Grande, who registered 42 mcg;
Another 31-year-old from Monarch Drive, Santa Cruz, whose breath alcohol
level read 67 mcg;
A 39-year-old from Telesford Street, Arima, registering 86 mcg;
A 44-year-old from Cedar Hill, Claxton Bay, with 56 mcg; and
A 52-year-old man from Endeavour, Chaguanas, whose reading registered 66
mcg.

All six men were arrested for the offence and will face charges accordingly.
