FIVE persons died from Covid-19 on Wednesday.
The Ministry of Health in its latest update (#1016) reported 546 new positive cases.
The ministry also stated that 136, 494 boosters have been administered while 50.2% of the population of Trinidad and Tobago is fully vaccinated.
The 5 deaths included:

2 elderly men; and
-
3 elderly women,
All five persons had multiple comorbidities which included diabetes, hypertension, heart disease, a history of strokes, chronic kidney disease, dementia, schizophrenia and Parkinson’s disease.

Patients in the parallel healthcare system who were not fully vaccinated were 13,704 or 82.7%, while 2,859 or 17.3% were fully vaccinated based on data from July 22, 2021 to March 2, 2022.
For the year 2022:
January: 535 deaths, 19, 650 cases
February: 224 deaths, 16,218 cases
March 1: 4 deaths, 280 cases;
March 2: 5 deaths, 546 cases.
