A manhunt is currently underway for five escapees from the Immigration Detention Centre, Carapo.
In a press release sent on Tuesday evening the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) stated that at approximately 3pm, five detainees escaped from the Immigration Detention Centre, Eastern Main Road, Carapo.
Commissioner of Police Allister Guevarro arrived at the scene and joined the coordinated manhunt, searching the surrounding area.
The escapees have been identified as Christian Jose Rivero Padares, Samuel Eduardo Gonzalaz Rodriguez, Leizer Omar Meza Font, Jhonatan Jesus Carreno and Miguel Sanchez.
The TTPS urged the public to remain vigilant and to report any sightings or suspicious activity by contacting 999, 555 or the nearest police station.
