FIVE candidates will be contesting two bye-elections to be held on June 17.
The Elections and Boundaries Commission (EBC) in a release on Friday stated that five candidates submitted nomination papers.
The People’s National Movement (PNM) and the United National Congress (UNC) are the parties participating in these elections. There is also an independent candidate for the Lengua/Indian Walk election.
These are the candidates for each area:
Quinam/Morne Diablo:
- Anderson Nanan (PNM)
- Sarah Sookdeo (UNC)
Lengua/Indian Walk:
- Autly Granthume (PNM)
- Nicole Gopaul (UNC)
- Peterson Morales (Independent)
The number of eligible voters for the Quinam/Morne Diablo bye-election and the Lengua/Indian Walk election are 8,369 and 8,465 respectively in accordance with the Revised List of Electors, the EBC stated.
