43 More Covid-19 Cases in TT

THE Ministry of Health records 43 more people testing positive for Covid-19 on Thursday morning.

It stated that these samples were taken from August 5 to present.

In its latest update, the ministry noted that 23 of these cases were pending epidemiological investigation while 19 were contacts of recently positive Covid-19 patients and one tested positive at a private lab.

This brings the total number of samples testing positive to 369 in Trinidad and Tobago.

There were now 222 active cases, the ministry stated.

It stated that deaths remain at eight with 139 people discharged.

The number of samples submitted to the Caribbean Public Health Agency (CARPHA) and UWI site for testing was 12,315 with 10,695 people tested.

The ministry stated that 1,620 people have been tested more than once.

It stated that 114 patients were now in hospital – 95 (one in intensive care and two in the high dependency unit) and 49 at the Caura Hospital.

The ministry added that 15 patients were en route to be hospitalised while the 43 new cases will be processed for admission.
