MORE than 40 people including 25 Venezuelan woman, eight Venezuelan men and ten local men were each fined $10,000 with five months to pay or one-month simple imprisonment for breaching public health protocols.
Police reported on Monday that the 43 were part of a group of 50 persons who appeared virtually before Magistrate Indra Ramoo-Haynes after they were arrested and charged on Sunday.
Four local men and three Venezuelan women pleaded not guilty to the charge and their matters were postponed to September 8.
The group was arrested during a party at a house in Real Spring, Valsayn, for breach of Public Health Regulations and gathering in excess of five persons. The arrests occurred during an exercise which was conducted between the hours of 10 pm on Saturday and 2.30am on Sunday.
