CHAGUANAS – FORTY foreign nationals – one Jamaican and 39 Venezuelans – were held during a police anti-crime exercise in Chaguanas on Sunday.
Police said they received intelligence and raided a bar on Railway Road, Chaguanas around 10 p.m. on Sunday.
The exercise was coordinated by Senior Superintendent Samuel Seepersad and included officers of the Criminal Investigations Department, the Special Operations Unit, Central Division Task Force, Courts and Process Branch and the Canine Branch.
The 40 individuals were unable to produce documents to prove that they were legally in Trinidad and Tobago.
All suspects were handed over to Immigration.
