4 Held for DUI in Penal, Debe

FOUR persons have been arrested for driving under the influence.

In a media release on Sunday, the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) stated that during a traffic and breathalyser exercise conducted in the San Fernando District, between 11.30 pm on 26 July and 3.30 am, four persons were arrested, and five fixed penalty notices were issued.

The exercise was carried out by the Southern Division Road Enforcement Task Force on Sunday and involved stop-and-search procedures, the observation of traffic offences, and the administration of breathalyser tests.

The operation resulted in:

  • Nine stop-and-search forms were completed,
  • Five fixed penalty notices were issued, and
  • Four persons were arrested for having breath alcohol levels exceeding the prescribed legal limit.

Among those arrested were:

  • A 29-year-old tradesman from Sunrees Road, Penal
  • A 38-year-old process operator from Wellington Gardens, Debe
  • A 39-year-old tradesman from Rami Trace, Debe
  • A 41-year-old welder from Gandhi Village, Debe

The operation was coordinated by Snr Supt Simon, Supt Jaikaran, ASP Ramsaran, Insp Maharaj, Sgt Nandlal, and supervised by Cpl Ramnarine.
