FOUR robbery suspects and one larceny suspect have been arrested by officers attached to the Central Division.
In a media release on Sunday, the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) stated five men had been arrested and a quantity of cash had been recovered following an intelligence-led operation conducted by officers in the Central Division on Friday.
The TTPS stated the operation was launched following a report of robbery with violence that had occurred earlier in the day in the car park at a banking institution.
According to reports, the victim was robbed of $46,000.
The TTPS reported that officers of the Chaguanas Criminal Investigations Department (CID), acting on intelligence, proceeded to Roystonia, Couva, where they arrested four men and recovered the full sum of $46,000.
The men arrested were:
- An 18-year-old from Bhagaloo Street, Enterprise, who is also a suspect in a series of robberies involving a PH taxi;
- A 24-year-old from Nazim Mohammed Street, Carapichaima;
- A 26-year-old from Chase Village, Chaguanas;
- A 30-year-old from Palm Avenue, Perseverance, Couva
During the same operation, a 30-year-old man from Hardbargain, Williamsville, and 6th Avenue, Malick, was arrested in connection with multiple reports of motor vehicle larceny.
The operation was coordinated by Superintendent Glodon and Assistant Superintendent Simon, and supervised by Acting Sergeant Baboolal.
