38 Venezuelans Held at Night Club on Ariapita

WOODBROOK – POLICE arrest 38 Venezuelan nationals from a night club at the corner of Ariapita Avenue and Carlos Street in Woodbrook on Tuesday morning.

According to police, the ex­er­cise was con­duct­ed be­tween 3.30 a.m. and 6 a.m., on Tues­day at the night­club and a search of the es­tab­lish­ment re­sult­ed in 29 fe­male and nine male Venezue­lans be­ing ar­rest­ed.

Among the fe­males, five were be­tween the ages of 15 and 17, police said.

They were hand­ed over to the Im­mi­gra­tion Di­vi­sion to ver­i­fy their im­mi­gra­tion sta­tus.

A small quan­ti­ty of nar­cotics was al­so seized dur­ing the ex­er­cise.

The ex­er­cise was su­per­vised by acting ASP Sook­er, acting In­spector Roberts and Sergeants Toolaram and Bharath, and in­clud­ed Im­mi­gra­tion Di­vi­sion of­fi­cials.
