350 Marijuana Trees Destroyed in Couva

POLICE have destroyed 350 cannabis trees, with an estimated street value of $350,000, in an eradication exercise in the Couva district.

The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) stated in a release on Thursday that, acting on intelligence, a team of officers, including members of the Freeport Criminal Investigations Department, the Special Intelligence Unit, the Central Division Task Force (Area South), and the Air Support Unit, conducted a Cannabis Eradication Exercise in the Couva district.

The TTPS stated officers discovered two cannabis fields in a forested area near Carli Bay Road on Wednesday. The fields contained 350 fully grown cannabis trees, with an estimated street value of $350,000, which were promptly destroyed by the TTPS.

The exercise was coordinated by Senior Superintendent Edwards of the SIU, Superintendent Glodon, and Assistant Superintendent Reyes, and was supervised by Sergeant Harriot of the Central Division.
