THREE women are charged with forgery and uttering forged documents at the United States Embassy.
Ornella Tricia Holder, of Belmont and Keisha Candice Fernandez, of Sangre Grande were charged by PC Ramkisssoon, while Selena Carol Ann George, of Santa Cruz was charged by acting Cpl Lazarus of the Fraud Squad.
The charges originate from a report by the United States Embassy regarding applications for US visas, a release from the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service stated on Thursday.
The applicants allegedly submitted job letters indicating employment as police officers, along with bank letters detailing their account balances. While these documents were initially accepted as legitimate, they were later found to be fraudulent.
The investigation, led by Senior Superintendent Arlet Groome, Superintendent Arnold Lutchman, Inspector Tricia Smith, and Inspector Gonzales, in collaboration with the United States Embassy, resulted in the arrest of the alleged offenders.
Further inquiries into similar reports are ongoing. Investigations are continuing.
