THREE fully vaccinated persons with severe comorbidities have died of Covid-19 in Trinidad and Tobago.
This was revealed by Chief Medical Officer Dr Roshan Parasram on Saturday at the Prime Minister’s press conference, a figure which represented .45% of deaths in vaccinated persons.
He said, “We had three fully vaccinated persons out of the 668 giving us a per cent of .45 of all deaths that would have been vaccinated.
“Meaning, of the cases that would have died from June 8 to present, 668, 99.45 per cent were unvaccinated, which is what the data tells us from across the world.”
Dr Parasram said the three who died were significantly immunocompromised who would have contributed to some extent to the cause of death.
He also said, “Generally speaking the cases that we have been having are the more severe ones of the unvaccinated people and we need to get to a space where we understand that, we get our vaccination and the outcome will be better for all of us.”
The Ministry of Health on Saturday stated that there were seven Covid-19 related deaths.
The ministry also stated that 390,380 persons were fully vaccinated and 503,239 had at least one dose of the Covid-19 vaccine.
