TRINIDAD and Tobago has reported its second case of the UK variant B117 of the Covid-19 virus.
The information received on Monday was revealed by Principal Medical Officer, Institutions, Dr Maryam Abdool Richards during the Ministry of Health’s virtual media conference on Monday.
The second case is a repatriated national from the United States.
And she made another appeal for citizens to strictly adhere to Covid-19 protocols in order to prevent its spread.
Abdool-Richards said, “This person was currently receiving medical care in the parallel healthcare system and is isolated but again, we would like to remind the population of T&T of this second case of the new variant.”
On January 21, the country reported its first case of the highly infectious variant.
