POLICE arrest 20 people for drinking at a recreation club on Friday.
The men ages 23 to 88 were taken to the Central Police Station and charged for breaching the Public Health Regulations, a release from the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service stated on Saturday.
They were held by officers of the Inter-Agency Task Force, Charford Court Base.
Officers were conducting exercises in Port-of-Spain between the period 4pm and 8pm, on Friday when they went to a recreation club located on Henry Street around 6.20 pm.
The officers observed a total of 20 persons engaged in recreational activities, including consuming alcohol, in breach of the Covid-19 Public Health Regulations.
The TTPS continues to urge citizens to adhere to the Public Health Regulations and welcomes information on possible breaches.
