TWO men have been denied bail after allegedly being held with guns and ammunition.
They were remanded into custody after appearing before Port-of-Spain Magistrate Maureen Baboolal–Gafoor on December 24, jointly charged with possession of firearm and ammunition.
Anthony Alexander Aka “Blacka” of Lanse Mitan, Road Carenage and Dominique Nivet, of Upper Dundonald Hill, St James, were both denied bail until tracing.
The men are expected to reappear on Tuesday.
The duo was arrested in separate incidents during an Operation Strike Back III exercise conducted by officers of the Western Division Task Force.
During the exercise, officers proceeded to Dundonald Hill, St James armed with a search warrant.
Officers conducted a search of the apartment, where it was reported that a Glock pistol, with 13 rounds of ammunition, was seized.
Nivet was arrested and charged. As the exercise continued, the officers proceeded to Lanse Mitan, Carenage where a search warrant was issued to Alexander.
During the search of the house, it is being alleged that a Sig Sauer pistol loaded with nine rounds of ammunition was discovered under a washing machine.
Alexander was also charged.
