THE two men charged for the robbery and death of Jimmy Thomas in Sangre Grande appeared before the Sangre Grande Magistrate Court on Monday.
Ricardo Rostant, 29, and Keishon ‘Kunta’ Punter, 19, both face charges for murder and robbery with violence. Punter also faces additional charges for possession of firearm and possession of ammunition.
The men were charged by PC Gonzales on Sunday, following the advice of Director of Public Prosecutions Roger Gaspard, SC, a release from the Trinidad and Tobago stated.
On May 24, Thomas was standing on the corner of Boodoo Circular and Eastern Main Road, Sangre Grande when he was approached by two assailants. The men allegedly attempted to steal Thomas’ gold chain when a struggle ensued and Thomas was shot. He later succumbed to his injuries at hospital.
