Two persons were arrested and a firearm and quantity of ammunition seized during Operation Blue Line exercises conducted in the North Central Division overnight.
According to a release from the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service on Tuesday, officers of the North Central Division Task Force, Area West, conducted an exercise between 8 pm and 11.30 pm, on Monday during which they intercepted a Hyundai Elantra motor vehicle along Bassie Street, Valsayn, with three male occupants.
One of the suspects exited the vehicle and was able to escape, while the other two were held.
A search of the vehicle resulted in officers finding a Glock-19 semi-automatic pistol, two magazines and 31 rounds of ammunition.
The suspects, a 34-year-old Arima man and a 32-year-old Valencia man were arrested in connection with the find.
Investigations are ongoing into the above matter.
