TWO suspects were arrested and substantial amounts of US and TT currencies were seized in Tacarigua.
The operation involved the Arouca Criminal Investigations Unit, the Special Investigations Unit, and the Inter-Agency Task Force, according to a release by the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS).
The intelligence-led operation took place between 10.30 pm on Monda and 6.30 am on Tuesday when officers went to a residence on Huggins Street, where a search was conducted.
During the search, authorities uncovered TT$2,158,166 and US$89,450.
A 49-year-old man and a 45-year-old woman present at the location were arrested in connection with the discovery.
The Financial Investigations Bureau has been engaged, and investigations are ongoing.
