TOBAGO has recorded its 19th murder of the year. Victoria Guerra, also known as “Dolly Boss” and alleged to be a member of the Seven gang, was fatally shot in Argyle on Monday afternoon.
Police said that around 3 pm, Guerra, who had been hiding in the countryside with other alleged gang members, was ambushed on the street leading to Argyle Waterfall.
Eyewitnesses report that a car approached, and several men exited, opening fire on Guerra and a male companion. Both victims were rushed to Roxborough Hospital, where Guerra, under police guard, succumbed to her injuries. The man, who was grazed by a bullet, survived the attack.
The same group of gunmen reportedly targeted another individual, an alleged Sixx gang member, in Pembroke, police said.
Authorities believe the shooting of “Dolly Boss” may have been a retaliation for the murder of Ezra Sylvester, 41, which occurred on Saturday.
Sylvester, also an alleged Sixx gang member, was gunned down in Scarborough. He was shot multiple times while sitting under a tent at the old First Citizens bank car park on Carrington Street.
He had several death threats. Sylvester was pronounced dead at Scarborough General Hospital later that evening. The attack also injured Anthony Lopez, 27, and Andrew Archer, 29, who remain hospitalised.
