TRINIDAD and Tobago has received another tranche of the single-dose Johnson & Johnson Covid-19 vaccines.
On Saturday, Health Minister Terrence Deyalsingh received 151,200 vaccines at the Piarco International Airport around 6.32 pm.
A release from the Ministry of Health stated that this batch of vaccines was procured by the Government from the African Medical Supplies Platform (AMSP). It is the second batch to arrive from the AMSP.
The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) is the coordinating body for the procurement of Covid-19 vaccines via the AMSP.
The ministry stated, “These doses of Johnson & Johnson vaccines will be absorbed into the supply of Covid-19 vaccines, which are used for the national vaccination programme.”
The ministry is again encouraging the population to take advantage of the wide range of vaccines, which were accessible throughout Trinidad and Tobago, to protect themselves and their families from the Covid-19 virus.
