IN the past 24 hours there has been a decrease of more than 1,500 active Covid-19 cases in Trinidad and Tobago.
The Ministry of Health in its latest update (#1025) reported three more deaths and 543 new positive cases.
But actives cases now stood at 18,800 down from 2o,322 as reported on Thursday – a difference of 1,522.
The ministry also stated that 139,980 boosters have been administered while 50.4% of the population of Trinidad and Tobago is fully vaccinated.
The deaths were of three elderly men.
Two out of three persons had multiple comorbidities while one had one comorbidity.
Some of the diseases included hypertension, congestive cardiac failure, a history of strokes, posterior leukoencephalopathy, aortic aneurysm and pancreatic cancer.

Patients in the parallel healthcare system who were not fully vaccinated were 13,838 or 82.7%, while 2,906 or 17.3% were fully vaccinated based on data from July 22, 2021, to March 9, 2022.

March 1: 4 deaths, 280 cases;
March 2: 5 deaths, 546 cases;
March 3: 5 deaths, 285 cases;

March 6: 7 deaths, 437 cases;
March 7: 6 deaths, 132 cases;
March 8: 2 deaths, 432 cases;
