FIFTEEN cellphones and other contraband were seized in raids at the Maximum Security Prison in Arouca on Friday.
Reports indicated that an exercise was carried out at the Wayne Jackson Building and the items were taken from high-profile criminals.
The raid comes in the wake of the murder of two prison officers Trevor Serrette and Nigel Jones.
Among the items found were chargers, headphones and cigarettes.
Serrette, 48, was killed on the spot when gunmen fired a total of 14 shots at him while he was sitting behind the counter of a food stall in Valencia last week Friday.
And just three days later on Monday, Jones was fatally shot while waiting for a taxi in Siparia with his six-year-old daughter.
Both officers were attached to Building 13.
Police have arrested nine people in Carapo on Tuesday in connection with these murders. No one has been charged.
