BRAZIL – BRAZILIAN authorities have seized 57 properties belonging to former Brazil and Barcelona forward Ronaldinho.

They have also confiscated his Brazilian and Spanish passports due to unpaid taxes and fines, according to reports in Brazil.

Ronaldinho has also been fined £2.06 million for illegally building a pier at his lake house in the city of Porto Alegre, stated a report in the Folha de Sao Paulo newspaper.

He was twice the World Player of the year in 2004 and 2005 and won the World Cup with his country in 2002.

Ronaldinho is also being pursued by creditors who are seeking to recover £1.69 million in other debts, such as council taxes.

Reports also indicate that the captain of that 2002 World Cup winning team Cafu is facing similar financial problems and also had apartments seized.

Ronaldinho’s net worth is estimated to be between £80 to £100 million.
