13 Murders Over 3 Days

IN just over three days, there have been 13 murders, including that of a couple and a 16-year-old boy.

The body of the latest murder victim still to be identified was found at a house at Padro Alfonso Street, Cleaver Road, Arima, on Monday morning.

According to reports, on Sunday, Jude Hector 16,  of Laundry Road in Kelly Village was killed  while standing in the yard of his home around 1 pm.

Then, at around 10.15 pm, Daniel Camacho, 24 was driving his gold Nissan Almera along Hindustan Road in Arouca with his girlfriend, Sherrelle Edwards, 22, when the  shooting occurred 

Edwards was in the front passenger seat, while their teenaged friend was in the back seat.

All three were shot at by three armed masked men.

Camacho and Edwards died at the scene while their 18-year-old friend was taken to the Arima Hospital for treatment.

Additionally, on Sunday police found the decomposing body of a man which was found in a river at Edinburgh 500 in Chaguanas and is asking the public’s assistance in identifying the body.

The weekend murder spree began on Friday with six people being killed. 

On Friday morning, an unidentified body, a man of African descent with gunshot wounds was found by police at Brickfield Road, Connector Road, Couva.

Also on Friday, Hasley Augustine, Kyle Flemming, Marvin Glaude, Akeem Vincent and Bevon Jules were shot in Cunupia, Tunapuna, Blanchisseuse and Pleasantville respectively.

Then on Saturday, Wendell Baptiste was shot in Arouca, Akel Modeste in Valsayn and Billy Williams was killed in Golconda.

  1. This narrative has been normalized by the current policies of the state. Ineffective border security. A collapsed TTPS and more importantly a government that has abandoned its principal responsibility of providing safety and security for its citizens. We have PM who has a nonchalant approach to crime and a MNS who appears to be facilitating the escalation in criminal activities because of his ignorance and incompetence
