ELEVEN persons have been arrested by officers attached to the Northern Division in connection with gang-related activities.
An additional 11 arrests were made in both the Northern and Southern Division for various offences as the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) continues with their ongoing State of Emergency (SoE) Operations.
In a media release sent on Friday, the TTPS stated an intelligence led operation was carried out on Thursday by officers of the Arima Criminal Investigations Department, Guard and Emergency Branch, and the Municipal Police in the Arima, Wallerfield, Malabar and Guanapo districts between 3 pm and 7 pm.
Eleven suspects, aged 19 to 44, were arrested in connection with gang-related activities.
An additional five suspects were arrested for Possession of a Firearm and Ammunition and Possession of Cocaine for Trafficking.
Two suspects, aged 41 and 39, were held in connection with Assault Occasioning Actual Bodily Harm.
Two Arima suspects were held for outstanding enquiries for Store Breaking and Larceny.
In the Princes Town District, Southern Division officers arrested a 19-year-old man for possession of one homemade shotgun, which was found in an abandoned structure close to his New Grant home.
Investigations are ongoing in all cases.
