10 Babies on Mother’s Day

TEN babies were born on Mother’s Day across the four regional health authorities in Trinidad.
Health Minister Dr Lackram Bodoe issued best wishes to the new mothers and also to all women across the country.
He said in a media release on Sunday evening, “As we celebrate this special occasion, it is my distinct pleasure, as Minister of Health, to extend heartfelt wishes to all mothers and, by extension, all women across Trinidad and Tobago. Happy Mother’s Day!”

Dr Bodoe also said this year, the national celebration took on added significance as for the first time, the president, prime minister, and opposition leader are all women, “remarkable individuals who serve at the highest levels of leadership”. “Their presence is a powerful reflection of the strength, resilience, and influence of women in our society,” he said.
Dr Bodoe said at the Ministry of Health, strong emphasis was placed on women’s health and  the ministry remained committed to delivering quality, equitable healthcare to every citizen.

He said, “To all our mothers, whether celebrating today as new parents or seasoned nurturers, we salute you. Thank you for your love, strength, and unwavering care. Happy Mother’s Day from all of us at the Ministry of Health.”
On Sunday, there were two births at the Eastern Regional Health Authority one girl and one boy, three baby girls were born at the North West Regional Health Authority, another three girls were birthed at the North Central Regional Health Authority and at the South West Regional Health Authority, there were two births, one boy and one girl.
