Watch: Flooding in Tobago from Tropical Storm Karen

AS Tropical Storm Karen heads is a west northwest direction, Tobago is feeling the brunt of her showers and winds.

Flooding in Scarborough, Tobago

The Tobago Emergency Management Agency (TEMA) said its has received several reports of flooding and fallen poles.

TEMA said seven people were trapped on the upper floor of a partially flooded house at Birchwood Triangle, Lowlands.

Heavy flooding has also been reported in Scarborough. The Port and Trinidad and Tobago Electricity Commission compound were underwater. National Security Minister Stuart Young said 20 of the 22 vehicles on the TTEC compound in Scarborough have been removed from the flood waters.

A fallen utility pole was also reported at Winchester Trace, Patience Hill, with hanging electrical wires.

There are reports that Plymouth Jetty has been damaged with a number of vessels taking in water and sinking.
