Just under 14,000 Venezuelans nationals have registered to stay and work in Trinidad and Tobago for the next year.
Prime Minister Dr. Keith Rowley revealed the figure during Prime Minister’s Question Time in Parliament in Port-of-Spain this morning.

Today is the last day of registration that started to weeks ago at three locations – two in Trinidad and one in Tobago.
Rowley said up to the penultimate day of registration the figure stood at 13,933.
He assured that all those in the line at the close of registration today will be processed.

“We have orderly lines there and at the end of the day who is there at the end of the line, who is there to be registered and all such persons who have turned up there to be a part of the line.
“As at 5 o’clock if you are there to be registered you will be acknowledged and identified and the process will be completed for you.”

He said the process could even be completed over the weekend but noted that there is not going to be an extension.
And on the issue that the website for online registration has crashed, he said, “there are other options available.”
