ANYONE in distress can now send an SOS on the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) App and get help from the Rapid Response Unit.

This is just one of the features of the TTPS Mobile App, now available for download on the iPhone App Store and Google Play.

It was officially launched during the weekly police briefing of the TTPS by Police Commissioner Gary Griffith.

Also at the briefing were Public Information Officer acting Supt Wayne Mystar and acting Supt Wendell Lucas of the Financial Investigations Branch.

Once downloaded the App will give real time traffic alerts, weather bulletins and safety tips.

Users could report a crime and share information on photos with police.

There is also a feature to anonymously report a crime.

Users could even send an SOS in case of an emergency and officer of the Rapid Response Unit will be dispatched to the scene.
