EASTERN Division police ticket 21 people for not wearing a mask on Tuesday.
In a release on Wednesday, the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) stated that the 21 were among 52 ticketed during a road-check exercise by officers of the Valencia Task Force, Criminal Investigations Department (CID) and the Sangre Grande Traffic Section, during 5 pm and 8 pm on Tuesday.
The exercise was supervised by Sgt Leon and acting Sgt Narine.
Anyone without a face mask in public is liable to a fixed penalty notice of $1,000 which police are stressing will be fully enforced to encourage adherence to the regulations and to ultimately curtail the spread of Covid-19, the release
