No Covid-19 Patients in ICU

THERE are no patients in intensive care who are Covid-19 positive.

In the Covid-19 update at a virtual news conference on Friday, Minister of Health Terrence Deyalsingh said there were 64 patients in quarantine facilities at the Couva Medical and Multi-Training Facility and the Caura Hospital.

He said at Caura the eleven patients were ambulatory or stable and were walking about.

Deyalsingh said there were 53 patients at Couva with one in the high dependency unit and 52 were ambulatory.

He said there were 114 people who have tested positive with 1,298 samples being taken by the Caribbean Public Health Agency. Deaths remain at eight and 20 people have been discharged.

Deyalsingh said there were 22 patients at a stepdown facility in Sangre Grande with one patient being taken back to Couva for additional tests.

He said the caseload per million of Covid-19 cases in the world has increased from 104 cases to 283.1 – a 220% rise.

In comparison, Deyalsingh said Trinidad and Tobago caseload have gone up by 26.5% or from 64 cases to 81 cases per million.
