No Bags, No Liquids at US Embassy

ANYONE going to the United States Embassy in Port-of-Spain will not be allowed in with bags or liquids from October 1.

This was revealed on Saturday during a video post on the embassy’s Facebook page.

New Consul Chief Cindy Duke said the ban on bags which include handbags was being done for faster security clearance.

Visitors were encourage to carry their passports and visa supporting documents in any clear plastic folder.

Duke reiterated that the ban on cellphones will continue.

The ban on bags and liquids also includes US citizens.

Duke said applicants will be accommodated in an air-conditioned waiting room that was redesigned sometime ago.

It was also noted during the discussion that more visa interviews have been added by the embassy and those people with appointments in October could be able to move up these to this month.
